CYBER SAFETY COMMITTEE
Welcome
the way you SHARE online can make all the difference
What We Do
The Sullivan County Cyber Safety Committee was initially established in response to an overwhelming number of Juvenile “sexting” cases within our local community. It was coordinated in conjunction with the District Attorney’s Office, Probation, and various concerned community members in hopes to combat sexting related offenses committed by youth who were simply unaware of the legal ramifications of their actions and their overall negative impacts. By providing informative resources and useful knowledge, the committee aims to encourage all to practice safe use of technology and social media platforms, and to understand that certain cyber actions have dire consequences.
Mission & Goals
In coordination with our local District Attorney’s Office and various community members, it is our mission to provide an awareness to students, teachers, parents and guardians of the potential dangers and legal ramifications associated with inappropriate use of technology. By providing informative resources, tools and the necessary knowledge, we aim to encourage all to practice safe use of technology across all forms of social media platforms.
It is our goal to stop inappropriate actions before they happen and keep our youth safe online.
