Beware of Voter Registration Status Scams

Sullivan County would like to make residents aware of a potential “smishing” campaign that has been circulating regarding voter status and voter registration. Based on available information we have received; longtime voters are receiving text messages from “allvote.com” indicating there is a problem with their voter registration status and urging voters to take action to update their voter registration status.

Sullivan County would like to remind all voters that bad actors may attempt to use this campaigning season to send phishing or smishing emails or texts like the one shown above. Voters are urged not to click on links unless they are certain the message is from a trusted source and should never provide any personal identifying information in response to such messages.

Please visit the Attorney General’s website to learn more about how to protect yourself from these scams and how they can be reported.

For any further questions about the status of your voter registration or to register to vote, contact the Sullivan County Bureau of Elections office at 570-946-5201 opt. 7.
