Clarifying Concerns About Primary Care Medical Services in Sullivan County

There has been a lot of concern recently about the future of primary care medical services in Sullivan County, and we want to take a moment to address some of these worries and clarify the situation.

First and foremost, Sullivan County is not losing its primary care medical facilities. We understand how important these services are to our community, and we want to reassure everyone that this level of healthcare in the county will remain accessible.

Laporte Medical Center is transitioning to new management, but this does not mean the facility is closing. This change will bring fresh opportunities for growth and sustainability at the Laporte location. Most Importantly, Dr. Schrack will remain at the Laporte Medical Center and is accepting new patient transfers to the Laporte Clinic to ensure continuity of service for the community.

We encourage anyone in need of primary care services to reach out to Dr. Schrack’s team at the Laporte Medical Center at (570) 704 4651 to discuss establishing or transferring your medical care to that clinic.  Health Services provided at Laporte is a vital resource, and it’s important that we continue to utilize that facility to ensure its continued presence in Sullivan County.

In addition, Guthrie Clinic is not leaving Dushore. It is actively working to find a doctor interested in moving to the center. While this transition may take some time, the clinic will continue to serve the Dushore area and is committed to maintaining access to healthcare for local residents.

We understand that any change can be unsettling, but we want to emphasize that primary care medical services will remain available in Sullivan County. By continuing to use these services, we help ensure their ongoing availability for our community.

If you have questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out directly to the medical centers. Let’s work together to keep these essential healthcare services strong in our community!

Please check back frequently for updates on the upcoming changes at the Laporte Medical Center as well as some exciting updates for the Laporte Dental Center.
